Professional wrestling is a multi-billion dollar industry. It has churned out megastars like The Rock, John Cena, and Dave Bautista. On top of all this, it’s wildly entertaining. So when a group of scientists, led by the esteemed Dr. Scott Davidson, approached us with an idea - to help explain the science behind pro wrestling, we couldn’t say no.

The Process
We began our endeavor by scientifically analyzing Stone Cold Steve Austin, a popular wrestler. The popularity of this video caught all of us by surprise - audiences loved the mix of education and entertainment. From there, we grew the YouTube channel to over 60K subscribers, with almost 6M collective views. Of all the episodes, the most challenging was covering a wrestler named Miro.
Miro’s gimmick is that he’s the best in the world. Our clients, the scientists, wanted to showcase this by placing him in different simulations that highlighted his skill. Specifically, they asked if we could somehow transpose Miro into different video games and show him interacting in those environments.
Dicewalk is usually able to get everything done in-house, but this situation called for extra help. After shooting footage of Miro in a wrestling ring, we also stood him in front of green screen. We then outsourced the work to several graphic designers to build out: video game versions of Miro, several custom characters, original video game backgrounds, and even custom video game music.
The Result
The scientists (along with Miro) were extremely impressed with the result. Several professional wrestlers even mentioned/retweeted this video on their social media!
