MNJ is a tech company right outside of Chicago. In this video, Dicewalk was asked to showcase MNJ’s overall business and their relationship with their top distributor.

The Process
After doing our due diligence, we discovered that MNJ began as a family business. Started by a husband and wife, it’s named after the initials of their three kids. We really wanted to hone in on this aspect due to its uniqueness, and use it as the foundation of the video. From there, we could layer on the business side of things.
Rafal wrote the script and several interview questions prior to filming. We spent most of the day on-site, grabbing b-roll and conducting interviews with the founders and their employees. We also cycled through a lot of camera gear, lenses, and lighting during this shoot to make sure we captured a simple, timeless feel - something that would still feel relevant years from now.
We traveled back to California and spent the next 2-3 weeks editing the video. Each rough cut was sent over to MNJ so they had full visibility in how we were portraying them. Our goal is to always show everyone in the best light possible. And sometimes that can be quite literal - there have been instances in which we spend hours touching up the footage, because the lighting is off.
The Result
After the final cut was approved, MNJ played our video to great fanfare. They used this for promotions and to highlight their business. And everyone really enjoyed seeing themselves in video (which is the way it’s supposed to be!)
